Palm Jumeirah Monorail Reopens Following Major Station Renovations

The Palm Jumeirah Monorail in Dubai has officially resumed its transport services as of July 2026, following a scheduled closure for infrastructure improvements. The transit system, which serves as a vital link for tourists and residents on the iconic man-made island, was suspended for a period of six months to facilitate essential station repairs and maintenance work.

Operational Schedule and Route Details

The monorail system has returned to its regular operating hours, functioning daily from 09:00 to 22:00. To ensure a consistent flow of traffic and minimize waiting times for passengers, trains are scheduled to depart at 15-minute intervals throughout the day. This frequency is designed to accommodate the high volume of visitors traveling between the mainland and the various leisure destinations located along the crescent of the Palm.

The route encompasses four key strategic stations:

  • Palm Gateway: The main entrance point connecting the island to the Dubai Tram and mainland parking facilities.
  • Al Ittihad Park: Providing access to the central green spaces and residential corridors.
  • Palm Jumeirah Mall: Serving the island's primary retail and dining hub.
  • Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark: The final terminus located at the world-renowned resort complex.

Ticketing and Economic Accessibility

In a move to maintain accessible public transportation within the United Arab Emirates, the fare structure remains competitive. One-way tickets are priced starting from 5 dirhams (AED), while round-trip fares are available from 10 dirhams. These rates vary depending on the distance traveled between specific stations, allowing for flexible transit options for those visiting local landmarks or commuting for business.

The restoration of this driverless transit system is expected to alleviate road congestion on the Palm's main trunk. By providing a reliable alternative to private vehicles and taxis, the monorail supports Dubai's broader urban mobility goals. Passengers can once again utilize the elevated track to enjoy panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and the city skyline while traveling to major attractions such as the The Pointe or the Nakheel Mall district.
