Bus to Yevpatoriia — what you need to know

Yevpatoriia is a resort town on the western coast of Crimea, known for its wide sandy beaches with a gently sloping seabed and sunny climate. It is considered Crimea's best family resort.

About Yevpatoriia

Yevpatoriia is one of the oldest cities in Crimea and the most popular family resort on the Black Sea coast. The city was founded in the 6th century BC as the Greek colony of Kerkinitis. In the 15th–18th centuries it was an important Ottoman trading centre known as Gözleve, where mosques, synagogues and churches coexisted peacefully — a religious and cultural pluralism preserved to this day in the Old Town.

Yevpatoriia's main advantage is its beaches. Unlike the pebble shores of the Southern Coast, here you find wide sandy beaches with a gently sloping seabed, perfect for families with young children. The sandy strip extends for tens of kilometres north of the city.

Old Yevpatoriia draws visitors with its unique architecture: a 15th-century dervish tekke, the 16th-century Juma-Jami Mosque (designed by Sinan, architect of the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul), Turkish baths and the narrow lanes of the Karantin quarter.

Travel tips
The bus arrives at Yevpatoriia Bus Terminal (13 Internatsionalna Street). The seafront and beaches are a 20-minute walk or 10-minute tram ride from the terminal.
