Bus to Dniprorude — what you need to know

Dniprorude is a young planned city in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, built around the Bilozerske iron-ore deposit — one of the largest in the region.

About Dniprorude

Dniprorude is a young planned city in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, founded in 1961 with the start of industrial extraction at the Bilozerske iron-ore deposit. The city grew literally from scratch on the open steppe as a typical Soviet single-industry town built to serve the mining enterprise.

The Bilozerske Iron Ore Plant, around which the city arose, is an underground mine with shafts descending more than 1,000 metres. The ore mined here provided raw material for the metallurgical plants of the entire region. A key feature of the deposit is its exceptionally high iron content, meaning the ore requires no beneficiation before being sent to steelworks.

Despite its industrial character, Dniprorude has a well-planned layout with wide streets and an extensive network of parks and squares. The city is located near the Kakhovka Reservoir, giving residents access to the Dnipro bank for rest and recreation in summer.
